Kivulini hosted a policy consultation to create awareness on the key issues as seen by the fishing community. In a Community Parliament, residents of Kayenze beach in Ilemela aired and debated their concerns on behalf of Lake Victoria fishing communities, before high level legislators and government technocrats from Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
The issues raised formed the subject of a plenary session later presided over by the Hon. Fred Mukisa, Minister of State for Fisheries in the Ministry of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries of the Republic of Uganda. |
